SERI 2024, Recap of the Conference "Mentoring: An Accelerator for Success and Inclusion"
How can French excellence become a vector for integration rather than a reproduction of inequalities? According to Les Echos START and Datagora (2022), a high school student is 83 times more likely to enter a Grande École if their father is an alumnus. Only 9% of students in these prestigious institutions come from disadvantaged backgrounds, according to a report by the Institut des Politiques Publiques (2021). Aware of these inequalities in the profiles of candidates during the recruitment of engineers, scientists, and future CPI professionals, Plasseraud IP has chosen to engage alongside Les Maisons des Jeunes Talents.
On October 18, as part of the Responsible and Inclusive Business Week (#SERI), we gathered our partner, collaborators, and co-offices around the question: How can mentoring become a lever for inclusion and equal opportunities?
Key Moments:
- Cyra Nargolwalla, Managing Partner at Plasseraud IP, opened the conference by emphasizing the importance of inclusion and mentoring.
- Tanguy Jacob, coordinator of Les Maisons des Jeunes Talents, presented the actions of the association for equal opportunities.
- Catherine Touati, Partner at Plasseraud IP, explained how mentoring enriches the lives of both young people and mentors.
- Mahine Kraiem, a former program beneficiary, shared her testimony on the impact of the association and mentoring on her journey.
This conference reaffirmed our commitment to inclusion and diversity. Mentoring is a powerful solution to support talents from all backgrounds and fight discrimination.
Thank you to all the speakers and participants, both in Paris and online, for their commitment!
