Laurence Loumes

Laurence Loumes is a European and French Patent Attorney at Plasseraud IP. She is also qualified to the USPTO and the Canadian Patent Office.
She spent 14 years in the US and Canada before joining Plasseraud IP, and has almost 15 years of experience of patent drafting, prosecution, patent validity and infringement opinions. Laurence holds a Ph.D. in fluid mechanics from Caltech and an LL.M. from Berkeley. During her Ph.D., she developed a heart pump model based on the embryonic heart. Since then, she has been advising clients on various medical device technologies, including in opposition proceedings and litigation before the French courts.
Laurence joined Plasseraud IP in 2017.
