Early feedback on UPC: Cyra Nargolwalla quoted in Managing IP
Cyra Nargolwalla, Managing Partner, is quoted in a Managing IP article about the UPC and the first feedback following its launch on June 1.
The article notes that advisers and their clients are mostly enthusiastic about the benefits the UPC offers.
“Protective letters and evidence gathering are going to be especially useful tools, adds Cyra Nargolwalla, a managing partner at Plasseraud IP in Paris.”
Cyra also warns that companies not using the UPC system will unfortunately not be able to shape case law.
“I know some clients are wary of going into the UPC. But I think it’s a shame not to try to use this new jurisdiction to its fullest immediately, because the people who don’t use it are the people who aren’t going to be able to influence how the case law plays out.”
